Mission and Vision

Jesus said it best:

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” -- Matthew 28:19-20.

This forms the basis of our mission statement:

The purpose of Timothy Lutheran Church is to proclaim the Good News of Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior of all people. As servants to the Word, we will reach out to the community and to each other through worship, education, witness, service and fellowship.

Using our time, talent and available resources, Timothy reaches out to our community inviting all to hear the word of God and become connected to Christ as Savior and Lord and to each other. These include:

  • Joining us in worshiping our Lord and Savior

  • Inviting all to study God’s Word in Sunday School and weekday Bible studies

  • Teaching our young children daily in our preschool

  • Serving the less fortunate in our community through Timothy’s Cupboard

  • Working in our community through programs such as Vacation Bible School, building homes with Habitat for Humanity, participating in Woodstock’s July 4th Freedom Fest, “Cherokee Cares” second responders for local disaster response., etc.

  • We believe that…

  • The Holy Scriptures are the true, inspired and authoritative Word of God.

  • God is a Triune God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • Humans are born sinful and in need of God’s forgiveness, love, and grace.

  • Our sins are forgiven through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

  • God’s Word, Holy Baptism, and the Lord’s Supper are ways that God brings his forgiveness and grace into our lives.

  • Eternal life is a free gift from God by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

  • Jesus Christ will return as victorious Lord of all.
